Bold Black & White Bedding Inspiration

In the third blog series of “Shop Our Look”, we head to the Winnetka store to gain some major design inspiration from this Bold Black & White Bedding Ensemble.

Over the past few years we have seen a serious gray trend throughout home decor.  From gray bedding and bath linens to furniture and bathroom accessories, it seems like this color trend is here to stay. Don’t get us wrong, we love working with a gray palette, but it is fun to spice it up every so often. The Winnetka store did a spectacular job incorporating pops of black and white to make a sophisticated bed. Wouldn’t this be stunning in a master bedroom?

 

Texture plays a big role in making this bed so eye-catching. First, let’s start with the coverlets and blankets. This bold bed displays the dark charcoal Silk Channel Coverlet by Ann Gish in between the SDH Allegro and Petalo Coverlets in Snow.  Now that the nights are getting cooler, we always recommend layering pieces to your bed. Plus, we love how the white, textural coverlets break up the dark, solid coverlet.

Next, simple details are added to make a big statement on the bed. The Yves Delorme embroidered sheets give a modern touch to an otherwise, traditional look. These black and white sheets really tie the whole bedding ensemble together. The Chenevard Shams by Designers Guild in Black and White give the bed additional texture. The black stitching on the quilted white sham add the perfect amount of black detail.

Be sure to remember the finishing touches! The store had fun adding pretty decorative pillows like the velvet floral Mathura Graphite and the luxurious Fox Strip fur pillow by Adri to this bed.  Finally, if you want to feel like you are sleeping on clouds, add in the dreamy Legna quilt to the foot of the bed. Overall, we are confident that combining black and white into the bedroom makes a chic, modern look.
