Coffee With Bedside: September 12, 2019
Happy September, Everyone! We’ve been welcoming the new season by freshening up the Bedside Manor stores with new fall products. If you are in the Chicago area, please stop in to see the beautiful new pieces. As always, please remember to send in any questions to [email protected] for our Coffee With Bedside series.
What should I add to my bed & home to prepare for the colder months ahead?
Great question! Can’t believe winter is right around the corner. We actually wrote a post on top coverlets which may give you some inspiration for your bedroom. In addition, you can always add a thicker throw to the end of your bed or couch. Cozy up by a fire with a warm cup of tea, comfy throw and binge-worthy show.
If you already have a quilt or coverlet, adding a warm blanket can be a great layering piece. You can always find something lightweight if you don’t want to be too warm and use it as a all-season blanket. Some great options are the Dream Modal and St. Moritz.
I’m looking for some fun pillows to add to my couch. What can you recommend?
Fun, fun, fun! Adding decorative pillows is such an easy way to change up the look to a room! A couple brands that focus on great patterns and colors are John Robshaw and Laura Park Designs. You can mix and match and play around with these decorative pieces.
If you want something more textured, try a fun V Rugs & Home pillow with some fur detail, like the Gigi shown below.
Do I need to iron my sheets?
Not necessarily. Many of our customers like a pressed look and will iron their sheets before they put on a fresh set on their bed. If you don’t mind a little wrinkle, then you should not feel obligated to iron. If you really want easy-care, go for a sheet with a little poly, like the Portofino. Also, sateen tends to be less “wrinkly” than percale.
Have a great weekend and talk next week!
